Oi, where have you been!?

Well, to that question - we have been working out little butts off day in day out trying to record just a few of our songs properly with terrible equipment. (It's hard, trust me)

After many grueling days we have 3 songs fully recorded - currently being mixed by harry.

These will soon be up on our myspace when it officially goes online - with promo pics; accepting as many friend requests as possible :)

So sorry for any delay.. If we had proper recording equiptment and more experience then we would have taken just a day.. But we learnt a lot throughout it.

I hope to god you guys think it genuinely sounds good >_<
Love, x

Tiredness!

No rest for the wicked, a busy week ahead of us all in Liquid Machine, hopefully some recording (Not sure yet wether it will be up to scratch), practices, busking (eek), and promo pics (hopefully!)

Me and harry had a go at recording his song acoustically yesterday, we learnt it pretty fast and harry had a go at doing some vocals.. Turned out he only had 1 line doing backing vocals so were gonna try involving the whole band and making it a little less acoustic, who knows it could turn out to be pretty epic! haha.

We also touched on some instrumental stuff (múm). I played some of my fave song - green grass of the tunnel, and harry just made it even better! We may play some of it in a park sometime :)

Unfortunately ben has work most of next week, so we'll have to play in the dark, but i think having nightly band practices could be fun and less distracting.

EXPECT MORE IN THE COMING WEEK(s)

LVOE!

A small insight...

Well as for updates on the band - we may be recording a little material this friday at school (Oh dear).
We also will try to get some proper band promo pics sooner or later possibly during half term! :D

As you have probably never heard us atall in your life i made a short video and put it onto youtube. Its just me playing some simple stuff and harry doing what he does best :)

ENJOY! :)

Myspace!

We are on myspace, But there is no music as of yet.
Bug us to record good demos :)
Thanks rich/harry/ben or whoever did it for the nice and simple design :p

The practice rooms today were alright, things were a bit pickled with Harry's effects (fuse) but he's got them fixed now.
Daniel got some shots of us in there, but they might not be too good because of the lighting (not because of Daniel xD).
We need to go and get outside pics with no instruments xD.. But it's hard with the crappy weather
We definitely need more practice :)

gihm..

Just because you have lots of skill in a guitar technique and can play very complex music does NOT mean it can be the best music to listen to. I do appreciate the high skill levels of those guitarists but i enjoy gihm's style more.

I do enjoy listening to the such of Andy McKee but they just don't do it for me; Their music just doesn't seem to have enough character, it all seems so perfect.

In GIHM's case - The guy has skill! Yeah sure mabye its not WOAZERS OMG L33T skill, but he has the skill to capture (great) songs, transform them into his own 'genre' and give them enough atmosphere to give you the pleasure of hearing his interpretation while the original song still shines through at its best.

I've seen so many different covers of so many songs on youtube - but rarely of such orchestral and instrumental artists such as GSYBE. GIHM always seems to be the one to pull his finger out and create such amazing atmospheric covers. I have discovered many new artists which i have found through this guy and enjoy both versions of the song.

But there can be no 'better' version as they both have completely different feels to them. This is what i like about this guy - how he can change a song completely, but keep it the same at heart, so when you listen to the original again.. You can still enjoy it.

It's not the skills which you have that matter, but it's how you use them.

I just feel i had to say this.. And i am gonna go to bed.
